Why You Need to Race So Cal’s DIRT MX Series

Despite what people may think, local MX racing is alive and well.  A couple years ago, a few guys starting thinking outside of the box and created a local motocross series in southern California to bring together anyone and everyone with a shared passion for motocross racing.  The Friday Night Lights series was a local So Cal mx series, that hopped between a handful of motocross tracks, providing racers an opportunity to come out, have fun and celebrate the spirit of competition.

The series was such a success that its now in its third year and picking up speed.  In 2012 they official titled the series the Dirt Series.  The guys behind it do a great job of marketing and promoting the series as well as recruiting partnering sponsors to help provide support for the participants.  Rather than charge one or two sponsors a bunch of money to act as a title or presenting sponsor, instead they ask for product which is in turn given back to the racers at the end of the year.

This year, sponsors have kicked in over $150,000 in product to be given away to participants throughout the series.   That payout rivals many of the biggest racing series in the country and saves you a fortune on gas by staying local.  After the success of the first year, organizers saw the popularity of side by side racing and opted to include UTV’s as well as trophy karts for 2013.
